Simply put, the load cell reacts to the jet engine's thrust forces, and the signals are collected and recorded, offering a "thrust curve" of the engine.
Static jet engine thrust tests rely on high accuracy load cells able to withstand thrust forces in harsh environments. Thrust, burn time, chamber pressure, and other parameters provide propellant chemists and engineers with invaluable data. The right equipment is paramount to guarantee accuracy and usable data to be applied back into the development and safety of jet engines.
Interface Force’s 1000 High Capacity Fatigue-Rated LowProfile™ Load Cell delivers performance from ignition to burn-out. Once the 1000 High Capacity Fatigue-Rated LowProfile™ Load Cell is installed into the static test stand, the jet engine is ignited and produces a full thrust. The 1000 High Capacity Fatigue-Rated LowProfile™ Load Cell absorbs the thrust force and outputs a signal directly to the 9330 High-Speed Data Logger. Connected to the user’s laptop, the High-Speed Data Logger measures and records the test results using the 1000 High Capacity Fatigue-Rated LowProfile™ Load Cell’s included BlueDAQ software.
