DDM VCT Turbine Flow Measurement System

The VCT is a turbine measurement system tailor-made for the flow measurement of almost any liquid, including agressive or flamable liquids. The VCT is ideally suited for road tests and in testing complex thermal management in vehicles with electric motors. The DDM turbine flow meter has a media-contacting thermocouple (VCT) has been specially developed for this purpose. The VCA flow computer processes data from the VCT flow sensor and converts it to a 0-10v signal for conection to an external DAQ. The compact size of both the flow sensor and flow computer means they can be easily installed, even when space is restricted.

Turbine measurement systems fast, accurate and with a small footprint

Turbine flow measurement systems from DDM impress with their very fast and precise measurement. A measurement system consists of a flow sensor, the so-called measurement turbine, and a flow computer that processes the measurement data in real time. Due to the miniaturized housing, DDM turbines (VCT) can be accommodated in the tightest of spaces. The fluid flows axially through the measuring tube of the turbine and sets the turbine wheel in rotation. An integrated signal pick-up records the speed of the turbine wheel and generates a digital frequency signal which is proportional to the current flow. The measurement data acquisition and A/D conversion is integrated in the turbine housing. All parts of the turbine flow meter that come into contact with the product are made of stainless steel or ceramics. This means that even flammable and aggressive substances can be reliably measured. The DDM Flow Computer (VCA) processes the raw data from the measurement turbine and generates normalized output signals for further processing.
